Opponauts, it's a sad day. The aero has been !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for sale. You know what would make it better? If one of "us" bought it. Please do it! Clean title, that pretty white color, Manual, 89,000 miles.

Kinja'd!!!

You can ask questions here or in the listing.

On a completely unrelated note, someone posted a dyno fails video last night, and I can't find it now. Whoever did, link please?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this respawned as a Saturn here?

Do it! It would make my month! I love this car and to see it on occasion, and to know it's in good hands would make me very happy!

Nope, no association with Saturn for this generation. The followup 9-5 did share a platform with the Saturn L-series though.

I've always found white 9000s to be resemble polar bears in their majesty. Either that or a supersonic bomber in antiflash white (lol jets). Good luck with the sale, though it's too bad it has to go!

Thanks! Add it to your Saab collection! Don't you have a 9000 already... the more the merrier.

Perhaps it was just the motor? I know the L wagon was on the Vectra/9-5 platform.

Yeah, I already have a black one; if it were falling apart I'd happily buy yours and transfer the mods.

I was referring to the platform, but maybe it was the next series.

There was an unpopular V6 version that used an engine from GM Europe. Beyond that I can't think of any other overlap.

Man, I want that. I've been looking for some where I'm at and they're all non-turbos, autos, and in a really bad state...too bad I'm not in America.

Good luck with the sale though, I hope a proper Jalop finds it and takes care of it

So, I had, for a very long time, a 1991 Saab 9000 Turbo, and like you, I loved that car to death. When it finally came time to let it go, I was extremely torn. I'd poured a lot of time, money, and effort into that car, keeping it running and in top shape. I ended up posting my for-sale listing only on the saabnet.com classifieds, mostly in hopes of finding someone who could properly appreciate the car instead of letting it go to some high-school kid as a first beater.

I was fortunate; a fellow from Connecticut — more than halfway across the country from me — called me almost immediately and offered to pay me half again what I was asking to secure the car. I talked to him for a while, and learned that he'd had a 1991 9000 just like mine, which had sadly been totaled in an accident. He'd been looking for another one for literally years, trawling the Saab classifieds, and he found mine. I didn't charge him the extra money, but he did pay for premium covered transport all the way out to his home. About a year later, he sent me an email with pictures of the car, saying it had been garage-kept and lovingly cared for, never even seeing snow or rain since coming into his possession.

It's a very sad day when you have to part with a car you truly love, but sometimes it ends up going to a good home. Sadly, I can't provide that home for your Aero (much as I wish I was able to — that 9000 was a fantastic car), but I'm sure that someone out there will appreciate it. I would recommend cross posting your listing to the saabnet.com classifieds if you want to find someone who really understands these cars. Best of luck in the sale, though; sorry I can't be more help.

It's ok, thanks for writing that! Very interesting and good to know. What I left out in the post is that it's my dad's car and I just found it on saabnet.com. I was so excited I sent the listing to my Dad in full caps (I'm not nearly old enough to drive). He sent the guy a message and sure enough, It was ours the next weekend. I want one of these for my first car and follow them on ebay and saabnet looking for good ones about twice a week. I search 9000 aero hoping for a good one. When this car was finally in our driveway I was about ready to jump over the moon. I never drove it obviously, I hope one day I buy it back for a first car. I made my Dad bring it to many car shows and it got its proper amount of appreciation. Thanks!

I think I have to stick to my plan, as much as this car attracts me. BMW it is going to have to be. Are you headed to C+C in New Caanan on Sunday? I am going to go grab some Modern/Pepe's Apizza and go to Space in Hamden Fri night then hunt BMW's all Saturday, then hitting C+C before heading back to Maine.

Sounds like a great plan! Yup, I'm going. I'm 190e30's younger brother, and have been going to this C&C for about a year now. My only suggestion is to not eat breakfast so you can have a bacon, egg, and cheese at the C&C. There's a deli there, and they have the best egg sandwiches on earth!

Hah! Well, it starts at 8 and ends at 10, but there's a line down the street to get in by 750. I advise getting there at about 730-740 if you really want to beat the rush. Then cars start to leave at about 930. By 10 everyone is gone.

Ok, if I remember I'll write to you here on Saturday night. Besides the times and breakfast situation I think that's all you need to know.
